Position Purpose This position is responsible for preparing quarterly and annual SEC and FERC filings and performing accounting research which requires technical knowledge of accounting procedures, rules, and regulations.

Required Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred or an alternate combination of education and experience that results in equivalent job knowledge. Zero to four years of experience in accounting preferred. Must have working knowledge of accounting principles and applications. CPA is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications Requires current working knowledge of accounting rules and regulations, including U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP), tax requirements, SEC requirements, FERC requirements and other reporting requirements. Ability to use reporting systems and Microsoft Excel.

Job Description Provides appropriate, accurate and complete support for the quarterly and annual SEC and FERC filings.

Ensures the financial statements to be issued are accurate and complete in accordance with US GAAP and SEC requirements

Researches technical matters, including writing technical memos and researching technical topics for various departments.

Monitors exposure drafts and proposed guidance for the FASB, SEC, FERC, PCAOB, etc.

Prepares financial calculations, reports, and analyses for senior management, other departments, internal and external auditors, and governmental agencies (PSC, SEC, FERC, etc.).

Provides financial information to other departments.

Possesses or develops an understanding of reporting systems and Microsoft Excel.

Possesses or develops a working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and accounting policies and procedures unique to the utility industry.

Work is performed under close supervision usually following a predetermined schedule of results desired.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Conditions Normal office environment.

Physical Effort Primarily sitting with optional standing and walking.
